From Salta, we will travel through the Quebrada de las Conchas, arriving in Cafayate, at 1,660 meters of altitude. We will drive up the Calchaquí valley via the Quebrada de Flechas, visiting the towns of Angastaco, Molinos, Seclantas and Cachi. From Cachi we ascend to the Abra El Acay mountain pass, at 4,890 meters. We return the same way to the "pueblo" of La Poma. We return to Salta by way of the Los Cardones National Park and the Cuesta del Obispo.

After our transfer from the airport to the hotel, we hold a briefing session, where we will discuss the most important aspects of our trip. The remaining part of the day is free. We suggest walking the city center (Plaza 9 de Julio), the San Bernardo hill, the wide variety of handicrafts and the many gastronomic choices. Next morning, after breakfast, our adventure trip begins.

Day 1:

Salta -> Cafayate

Distance traveled: 200 km in 5 hours

From Salta, we will drive to Cafayate via the Quebrada de las Conchas, with its splendid rock formations, a gift from nature. Arriving in Cafayate, at 1,660 meters of altitude, we can visit "bodegas", view handicrafts or explore the town and its surroundings.

Cafayate

In the morning we will visit the Quebrada de las Conchas, exploring its valleys surrounded by sedimentary rocks in the most amazing shapes and colors. The afternoon is free, and we recommend visiting some "bodegas", or hiking up the Divisadero river valley. It is possible to rent bicycles or go horseback riding.

Day 4:

Cafayate -> Cachi

Distance traveled: 180 km in 5 hours

The morning is free. We suggest browsing the handicrafts in llama and sheep wool, silverware, ceramics. At the end of the morning we will ascend the gorgeous Calchaquí valley up to Cachi. In this valley, nature left the rocks in the most fantastic positions, as in the Quebrada de Flechas. We will visit the picturesque "pueblos" of Molinos and Seclantas. In Cachi we can enjoy the tranquility, colonial architecture, the archaeological museum.

Cachi -> Abra El Acay, La Poma

From Cachi we ascend the Calchaquí valley to the Abra El Acay pass, getting to 4,890 meters of altitude. We return via the Calchaquí valley, spending the night in the "pueblo" of La Poma, at 3,000 meters.

La Poma -> Salta

From La Poma we descend the Calchaquí valley, entering the Los Cardones National Park, driving along the Tin-Tin Stretch. After ascending to the Piedra del Molino, at 3,300 meters of altitude, we descend via the fascinating Cuesta del Obispo.
