After our transfer from the airport to the hotel, we hold a briefing session, where we will discuss the most important aspects of our trip. During the remaining part of the day we will do a city tour: we will visit the San Bernardo hill, the monument to Güemes, and walk around the city center (Plaza 9 de Julio). Next morning, after breakfast, our adventure trip begins.

Day 1:

Salta -> Cafayate

Distance traveled: 200 km in 5 hours

From Salta, we will drive to Cafayate via the Quebrada de las Conchas, with its splendid rock formations, a gift from nature. Arriving in Cafayate, at 1,660 meters of altitude, we can visit "bodegas", view handicrafts or explore the town and its surroundings.

Day 2:

Cafayate -> Cachi

Distance traveled: 180 km in 5 hours

The morning is free. We suggest browsing the handicrafts in llama and sheep wool, silverware, ceramics. At the end of the morning we will ascend the gorgeous Calchaquí valley up to Cachi. In this valley, nature left the rocks in the most fantastic positions, as in the Quebrada de Flechas. We will visit the picturesque "pueblos" of Molinos and Seclantas. In Cachi we can enjoy the tranquility, colonial architecture, the archaeological museum.

Day 3:

Cachi -> Salta, Purmamarca

Distance traveled: 400 km in 8 hours

From Cachi we will leave the Calchaquí valley, climbing to the Los Cardones National Park, with its uncountable cacti of the Trichocereus genus, that resemble guardians of the Altiplano. We will drive along the Tin Tin Stretch, on our way to the Piedra del Molino, at 3,300 meters of altitude, before descending the Cordillera via the fantastic Cuesta del Obispo. From Salta we drive to Jujuy via the cornice road, more scenic. From Jujuy we follow to Purmamarca, at 2,192 meters of altitude. Purmamarca is a typical Andean "pueblo": narrow streets, old houses, handicrafts everywhere, in the midst of fabulous mountains. Hiking the surrounding area we can appreciate its fantastic rock formations, such as the "Cerro de los Siete Colores".

Day 4:

Purmamarca -> Tilcara, Humahuaca

Distance traveled: 200 km in 7 hours

We will ascend the Quebrada de Humahuaca, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We cross the Tropic of Capricorn near Huacalera. In Tilcara (2,461 meters of altitude) we will visit pre-Inca ruins: the "Pucará de Tilcara". We spend the night in the picturesque town of Humahuaca, at 2,936 meters.

Day 5:

Humahuaca -> Salta

The morning is free. In the afternoon we will descend the Quebrada de Humahuaca towards Salta, with the option of stopping in Tilcara, Purmamarca, or another locale in the Quebrada.
