From Salta, we ascend the Altiplano via the Quebrada del Toro, visit the pre-Inca ruins of Santa Rosa de Tastil, arriving at San Antonio de los Cobres, at 3,700 meters of altitude. We will go to the La Polvorilla rail bridge (Tren a las Nubes), drive up to 4,890 m of altitude in the Abra El Acay, and descend the Calchaquí valley until Cachi. We return to Salta by way of the Los Cardones National Park and the Cuesta del Obispo.

From Salta, we will drive to Cafayate by way of the Quebrada de las Conchas. We will go up the Calchaquí valley via the Quebrada de las Flechas until Cachi. We ascend the Altiplano via the Abra El Acay, at 4,890 meters of altitude, when we descend to San Antonio de los Cobres, at 3,700 m. We will visit the La Polvorilla rail bridge (Tren a las Nubes). From Salta, we drive to Cachi via the Cuesta del Obispo, getting to 3,300 meters of altitude. We descend the Tin-Tin Stretch, cross the Los Cardones National Park and arrive in Cachi. We ascend to the Altiplano by the Abra El Acay, at 4,890 m of altitude, descending to San Antonio de los Cobres, at 3,700 meters of altitude. We visit the La Polvorilla rail bridge (Tren a las Nubes). We follow the Altiplano north to the Salinas Grandes salt flat. We descend via the Cuesta de Lipán, to the "pueblo" of Purmamarca. We return to Salta by the more scenic route.

From Salta, we will travel through the Quebrada de las Conchas, arriving in Cafayate, at 1,660 meters of altitude. We will drive up the Calchaquí valley via the Quebrada de Flechas, visiting the towns of Angastaco, Molinos, Seclantas and Cachi. From Cachi we ascend to the Abra El Acay mountain pass, at 4,890 meters. We return the same way to the "pueblo" of La Poma. We return to Salta by way of the Los Cardones National Park and the Cuesta del Obispo.

We return to Salta by way of the Los Cardones National Park and the Cuesta del Obispo. In Salta we will visit the Cerro San Bernardo, the historic center, churches, and appreciate its cuisine.

On the Altiplano, we will visit the Laguna de los Pozuelos Natural Monument and the Laguna de Guayatayoc, both rich habitats for Altiplanic fauna. On our return to Salta we will visit the Salinas Grandes salt flat, and drive down the Cuesta de Lipán, getting to know the town of Purmamarca.

We visit the Salinas Grandes salt flat, arriving in Susques, at 3,600 m altitude. We follow to San Antonio de los Cobres, at 3,700 m, getting to know better the Altiplano, passing under the La Polvorilla rail bridge (Tren a las Nubes).
